Today I was picked up in Helsinki by a graduate student from HAMK University. Loaded the 2 bags of luggage into the care and headed back up north about one hour, to Hamelinna, the castle on the lake. Before arriving we did a grocery stop at a large store. As you can see the carts look the same , however you need a grocery "key" to unlock the carts , this is to make sure you lock the cart back up when leaving. This country is one in which you do things for yourself and almost every store is self sevice. That being said, I was extremely surprised a the honor system in the grocery store. Nothing is priced and the customer must identify the item by a number, then proceed to get a sticker for that object, if you forget you are sent back and loose your position in the line to pay. Heres a short video.
SOMETIMES THE WORLD DOES FEEL UPSIDE DOWN!
I think you're supposed to put the onions on the scale when you weigh them, not your wallet. :-0 You have to go back and try again...
