The journey to Seinajoki- Translated meaning "Town on the River"

The day started as I hopped into a taxi to the Helsinki airport. Seinajoki is approximetly a 60 minute plane ride north. The airport is large and very busy and has elements as any airport including trollies with advertizing. Once on the plane, which was very small-2 rolls, 2 seats and a total of 24 people, took off and headed into the clear sunny day.

As you can see in the photo, most of Finland is rural, and I found some interesting bits of information.
POPULATION: There are 5. 3 million people living in Finland and the average density of 17 people per square Km of land area (much different than in the US), life expectancy: men 75.6 and woman 82.9, baby boomers are also the predominate age group as in the US. The average household is 2.1 persons and 55 % are single family homes. 45% of indivdiuals live in apartments ans 55 % live in apartments. There is a total of 1 million people currently living in Helsinki,. 78%of the population has completed College education, and 35% have completed a Masters or Doctorate, the highest percentage of all EU countries! *Wired- yes 80% of all Finnish households own a computer, 70% have broadband and 99% of all households have cell phones. Other major cities include Tampere, Turku, Oula and Jyvaskyla. Seinajoki was once the capital of Finland, near 100 years ago.
